Blog 6 Final Project

In total my technology should cost $5,050- $10,000 per beam depending on size).

Cost of all expenses....
Cost of Parts
Cost of Labor
I. What materials will you be using? List all of them below.
Compact Aluminum
I. Who is going to make your technology? Why?
I would need a construction crew to make my technology because it involves connecting aluminum beams to each house.
II. How much of each material will you need (for a single product)?
For a small aluminum bean you would need 1,000 pounds of aluminum
For a medium beam you would need 2,000 pounds of aluminum
For a large beam you would need anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000 pounds of aluminum depending on the distance between buildings.
II. Will you have your team/company do additional research? If so, what might be the cost of more research and development?
I would develop this by paying testers about $1,000 each to test the product and if the product fails and causes damage to the house then we will compensate for the damages.
III. Calculate the total cost you will be spending on each material.
Ex: I need 12 sq ft of copper and each sq foot of copper costs $1 so it will cost be $12.
Copper-$12
1 pound of aluminum= $.55
Small beam= $550
Medium beam= $1100
Large beam=$1650- $5500
III. How many people will be needed to build your technology? How long will it take to build? With this information, you can calculate what each person will need to be paid (at least minimum wage).
I would like the beams to be shipped then installed. These beams should take no more than a week per beam to install. I would pay workers $9 an hour (about $.66 over minimum wage).
IV. How many products will I need? Explain your reasoning.
Because they would be connecting the buildings it would fluctuate how many beams you need, also the size would fluctuate too.
IV. What is the total cost of the labor involved in the research, development, and building of your technology?
The total cost would come out to $45,200 to build and research each beam. To install would cost $4,500 because of labor fees.
